Applications
Timber and Profiles
Surface marking:
The DM3 contact coder can print fixed information onto timber at speeds of up to
200m/minute. Examples of marking include logos which signify compliance with quality,
environmental and technical standards. Alternatively products can be identified with
producer details.
The Merlin 350R and 175R high resolution ink jet printers can mark detailed, variable
information onto a horizontal surface, at speeds of up to 150m/minute. For example, the
output from stress grading or length measurement equipment can be fed into the ink jet
and the data printed automatically. Even if the print is non-variable, the ink jet allows
quick changeovers of the printed message, so no production time is lost due to changing
marks.
Variations in height can be accommodated by the "ski" mounting system, which has an option
on manual screw or motorised height adjustment.
End Marking:
The printer is mounted on the production line, and prints directly onto the end grain of the
timber. Logos, quality marks and variable data can all be printed using this arrangement,
at speeds of up to 150 m/minute. The printer can print real time data, such as an output
from a stress grader, or timber length from length grading equipment. Using the Alphadot message creation software, it is easy to set up the message
template and external data parameters.
Bar Codes:
The Weber Fas Tagger can apply bar code tags to timber pieces. Please click here to
